Adidas was formed back in August of 1949 as the manufacturer of athletic footwear and apparel. Over the years, Adidas has grown to encompass all major sports and by the mid 1990s introduced a line of skateboard footwear with a diverse group of team riders. This original skate division lasted into the early 2000s, but was re-booted in the mid 2000s under the name Adidas Skateboarding with a condensed team consisting of Mark Gonzales, Tim O’Connor and Dennis Busenitz.
