Alien Workshop Skateboards was formed by Mike Hill and Chris Carter after leaving G&S in 1990, and with some help from Neil Blender shaped an identity filled with paranoid and paranormal themes. From it’s eccentric, high caliber team riders to their individualistic approach to products and audio/visual projects, Alien Workshop is driven to rewrite the skateboard company definition. In 2008, Alien Workshop was acquired by Burton Snowboards, but in 2012 was purchased back by original Alien Workshop team rider Rob Dyrdek.
One of the single most expensive collections of decks ever came from a collaboration between Alien Workshop and Andy Warhol. The appeal reached far wider than your average skate collector, with art lovers also jumping on board and pushing up the price to astronomical levels. We are talking 5 figures for a set of 10 originals. You won't find many of these getting thrashed at your local skate park.
