Sk8 Collector FAQ

You have questions, we have answers. Before you ask us, be sure to take a quick look through the Sk8 Collector FAQ to see if your question has already been answered.

I want to buy one of the skateboards on Sk8 Collector

We do not sell the skateboards listed. Well we may sell or trade from our own private collections, but we do that through other means. Sk8Collector.com is intended as a reference point for collectors and is not a shop.

If you are seeking one of the decks, we suggest you join skateboard collector’s groups as well as following auctions and classifieds. On certain skateboards, we may include direct listings to a few buy now options or auctions.

You are missing a lot of decks, what’s the go?

We started working on this archive in late 2021. As time allows it grows and will continue to do so. This is a slow process as we research each deck to obtain all the readily available information we can. This includes deck specs and other information that takes time to source. We are looking to build a collectors site full of interesting and useful information, and won’t skimp or for the sake of numbers.

Why do you include Reissue’s and Non Skate Collaborations?

We understand that some OG and Vintage Collectors find these sorts of decks to be somewhat offensive. And everyone is entitled to their opinion. But, there are also a lot of people that have interests beyond skating, and love seeing their interests merge into one skateboard. And then there’s those that like a mint condition deck from their youth hanging on their wall, even if it is a reissue. We aren’t here to judge what anyone collects, we all have our reasons. We are just here to share the stoke.

Can I contribute to Sk8 Collector?

We welcome any and all contributions, large and small. If you have photos, information, or anything else you feel would interest other skateboard collectors, we’d love to hear from you. If it’s a titbit or price related to a skateboard that’s already listed, you can use the comments to post it up if you want. Or, if you’d prefer, use the contact page and let us know the details.

Do you skate?

Not as much as we’d like to, but yes we still skate. For over 30 years now. Having grown up in the days of ramps, that’s mainly what we still skate to this day. We do hit up skateparks, bowls and do some street, but the older you get the harder concrete seems to get.

What is the Skateboard Wishlist?

Think of it like a series of bookmarks. Only it’s all on a web page with photos and names of skateboards. You could use it to create a check list of skateboards that you want for your collection. Or go the other way, and keep a track of decks you already have.

Best part is you can share your skateboard wishlist with others.

The details are incorrect, why?

We use multiple sources to gather and compile information on decks and other skateboard parts. 99% of sources are authorities in the field and the information deemed accurate at the time of publishing. Where it can go wrong is human error. An error from the source, an error from us compiling and editing information. Sometimes too the information at hand may not tell the full story.

Years for example are sometimes tricky, as even without a typo we may be a little off. For example, a deck may be released in 2005, but we only know 100% that it was available to skaters in 2006 and onwards. So we’ll use 2006 as the base.

All information listed is up for discussion and change. If you see something you know to be a little off, let us know. We are more than happy to make what ever changes are necessary as accuracy is important to us.
