From Present to the Past
There’s been a LOT of skateboard decks released over the years. Many get thrashed, some go straight to the wall, and others sit unused in the corner of a cupboard for years. As time goes on, and each deck disappears from retail shelves, it becomes harder and harder to find reliable information on each one.
We have taken it upon ourselves, whether through our own personal interest, madness, or maybe both..to start keeping an archive of interesting and collectible skateboards. There are some great sites around, but each one is a little different. Sk8 Collector is all about each deck in every colorway, with each graphic, in every year.
Why? So when Joe Bloggs decides to sell a black Bones Brigade Lance Mountain reissue, you have a fast way of finding out if it’s a Series 4 or Series 8, what year it’s from, and more. You may even discover that it’s a fake or custom artwork.
As a member of many skateboard collector groups, we know that people are always asking for information about decks. Sk8 Collector is all about answering those questions. But, it will take time, and we are a long way from done. But like skateboarding, it’s all about progression, and we are pushing hard.
