Contributions to Sk8 Collector

Sk8Collector.com is a digital archive of skateboarding over the years. We have a focus on all gear of interest to skaters and collectors, and anything we find funny, interesting, rad, or controversial.

We have no intention of cataloging every deck or bit of gear in existence (at this stage), we’ll leave that to other sites. But we do want quick answers to questions – What year was that reissue? When did it come out in that colorway? We also want to see things side by side, like all the Real Cathedral Decks, or anything to do with Roskopp Targets including spoofs for example. Even just to check out all “”Blue” or “Yellow” decks. Collector’s can be pretty OCD. It’s a quick, easy way of seeing what’s missing from a collection (including ours). Specs are also of interest, we want to know what’s what and what’s changed along the way. Sk8 Collector is a handy, quick, reference for anyone that wants or needs it.

This is a very time consuming task, but one that we enjoy doing, and will keep doing for many many years.

Ways you can assist

Errors – We are human, and this website is hand crafted, so there are mistakes, errors, oversights and more. We want to know about any and all of them, so fill us in. And please be sure of your source, we have seen so many inaccuracies on collectors groups and other websites about decks etc.
Years – Deck A may show up in a certain catalog or some other point of reference, but there is no perfect guide. In times past, a single deck could show up in multiple catalogs over an extended period. We may see it in 2006, but it was released in 2004 for example. If you have sources to say it’s a different year, let us know.
Photos – We love real life photos of decks, wheels and more. Especially when there’s visual points of differences between one and other reissues with the same color and graphic. And please feel free to watermark your images with your Insta handle, website address or what ever else you like. We dislike the scammers that are popping up everywhere, so no image goes on site without a watermark anymore.
Catalogs – We love reference points, and we share catalog details and images. If you have a few scans or photos laying around and are willing to share, we’d be happy to put them to good use.
Reviews & Comments – Share your thoughts. Do you buy a deck and were disappointed. Or the colors pop even more in real life? Share a comment or a review on any item on Sk8 Collector by scolling down to the bottom of the item page. Fill in the form, slap the button, and we’ll get it online.
Tell us where to go – Feel like helping out but want to save energy. Then tell us where to go…Send us to your blog, a url for your photos, a reference point, what ever you think will help and that we have permission to use. And we’ll take it from there.

Here to stay

I have seen so many good skateboarding websites come and go. There have been some great unique archives over the years, and many have shut up shop for one reason or another. As someone that still has sites online from 25 years ago, this is not something that I comprehend. Rest assured that any contributions made will still be here in many years to come.
