Reissue Skateboards Decks are modern day reproductions of an OG Skateboard. They often use the same size, shape, concave and graphics as the originals – and in some cases the same moulds. Where they vary is with new colorways. They are sought after by collectors as they are in mint condition. This makes them great for setting up to skate, or hanging on the wall.

Advantages of a Reissue Deck
Not everyone is a fan of a reissue skateboard deck, but they do have some advantages. To start with the obvious, they have never been set-up, ridden or thrashed. They are easier to obtain than an OG deck, and until recent times were a lot cheaper – although this seems to be changing.
The new colorways are bringing some awesome graphics back to life with serious pop – although not every colorway released has the same appeal.
And for those of us who rode our decks into the ground back in the 80’s and 90’s, it’s a chance to start fresh with a new ride. Maybe hang a few on the wall as well whilst we’re at it. It’s certainly a quick trip down memory lane without that endless search for a reasonably priced NOS OG. If you’re lucky you’ll grab that deck you always wanted, and set it up just the way you imagined. Things can be a bit different when you don’t need your parents to fund your skating.
Get in Quick with Old School Skateboards
The flippers are all over these decks. It’s quite common for a re-issue to be a limited release and as such they can be in short supply. They buy a few at retail, and stick them straight up online for sale at inflated prices. Usually before they’re even sold out at retailers. These guys are just there to take advantage of the market, and grab as much of your hard earned as they can. They are as loved by skaters and skateboard collectors as much as snakes at the skatepark.
Moral of the story, drop in before they do. If the one you’re chasing is sold out, try the collector’s groups first before feeding the flippers. Someone will do you a good deal.
BLEM & Signatures
If you’re into your signed boards, the Reissue Skateboard Decks can deliver. Companies like Powell Peralta release their BLEM (Factory Seconds) decks signed by the members of the Bones Brigade as well as George and Stacy for charities. If you think a signed Hawk or Cab deck is for you, keep an eye out. They do drop from time to time. Not only will you get that deck and signature, but you may also help build a skatepark in an underprivileged area in the process.
